Octane Finance extends backing for Porsche champion Harry King

Octane Finance can today confirm that it will extend its relationship with rising star Harry King into a third season in 2022.

The leading car finance company took on the role of primary sponsor with the highly-rated youngster when he made the move into the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in 2020, having secured the Ginetta GT4 Supercup crown a year earlier.

In his debut season in the series as the Porsche GB Junior Driver, Harry stormed the championship title with twelve wins in just 16 starts, and he added three further wins last year en-route to fourth place.

Having run a part campaign in the F1-supporting Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup last year alongside his Carrera Cup GB commitments, Harry takes on a full overseas programme for the first time in 2022 having inked a deal to return to the Supercup with leading outfit BWT Lechner Racing.

Alongside that programme, where he scored a podium at Imola in the opening round of the campaign, Harry will also compete in a full season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, with Octane Finance backing his entry with the Parker Revs Motorsport team.

The team - founded last year following a collaboration between Team Parker Racing and Revs Motorsport - was responsible for Harry’s Supercup programme in 2021 and also ran him in a one-off outing in the Benelux series at the Red Bull Ring (pictured middle below) where he stormed to an impressive double win on his debut in the 992-spec version of the Porsche GT3 Cup car.

Harry’s Benelux campaign is due to begin at Spa in support of the World Endurance Championship this weekend with further outings planned at the likes of Zolder, Zandvoort and Assen.

Dan Kirby, Octane Finance managing director, said "Our two years supporting Harry in Carrera Cup GB were absolutely fantastic with so many memorable moments, not least the way he dominated his rookie season to secure the title.

"Although he will now be racing further afield in 2022 as he looks to take his racing career to the next level, we are delighted to extend our relationship into a third season to support Harry’s entry into Carrera Cup Benelux.

"His one-off outing last year showed what he can do, and with a year of experience under his belt with the Type 992 Cup Car, we are confident that he can enjoy another hugely successful season on track."
